Homegrown.

Alright, well we finally "harvested" two ears of corn from the greenhouse. It definitely wasn't premium, but it was pretty good for rookie gardeners. Bry and I laughed about our homegrown meal of corn on the cob, salad with letttuce, onions, carrots, and peas out of the garden, and fresh-off-the-mountain sheep meat. The only improvement would have been ripe, red tomatoes .... next year we'll try to have that figured out.

Yesterday I picked up about 100 pounds of peaches, nectarines, and pairs. Seriously, it's probably 100 pounds. That's how they do fruit out here. Straight from California in bulk :) It should be fun gorging ourselves on fruit and figuring out how to make it last. First stop: homemade jam.

In other news, Ever's hair is nearly long enough to french braid. Yikes. When did this happen?!?!?
Oh -- and she's learning male and female moose calls. My goodness.

  1. Peaches and nectarines should freeze well, if you peel and slice them. That way, you could make cobblers and such with them this winter. Not sure about the pears, would probably depend on how ripe they are.

I looked at the top pic of Ever and Bryan, and said, "Wow, her hair is getting so long!" and then saw the pic of her hair french braided! :)
