Busy and tired. Aren't we all?

As I started to write, I realized how silly it is to write that I am too busy and too tired to come up with anything good to share right now.  Nearly everyone I see is in the same boat of business and tiredness.  I have quite a few lovely pictures that I hope to share eventually, but just don't have the patience to sort through right now.   Sometimes we are just tired of making decisions, no?  Even the little decisions seem tiresome.

Stacey took this cute picture of Ever, Tell, & Oliver digging into the birthday cake on Sunday.  Cutie pies for sure....  Isn't it grand to be a kid?  Ever might disagree because I sense she is getting tired of being told what she can and can't do.  She is ready to be big ... so she says.  Sigh.  I am definitely not ready for that.  Even if it would mean more help, which might mean being less tired.  That's the word of the day: TIRED.
But happy.  Definitely HAPPY.

First Trip Around the Sun.

It's been one wonderful, growing, changing, laughing, tiring, learning, blessed year.  We wish you all could be here to celebrate this lovely little boy, in Ever's opinion a birthday party is about the best thing in the whole world :)  Without futher ado,

Happy 1st Birthday Tell Wilder.

We love you so very much.

Projects.

Well, both the ducks and the airplane are growing.  Honestly, both are hard to believe how fast they evolve.
The ducks are huge already!  And I can't believe I haven't shared their names yet.
From left to right below: "Duck", "Big Momma", "Moses", & "Quack Lack Wack Somack" (or some derivative of that....)
 Their new trailer home:

Look at this beauty. Wings are going on today.

It's exciting times around here as usual.  More so, because we have a very important birthday coming up and a couple fun projects in the works for that.  And, of course, a cake to bake!

Done!

It was a fun, out-of-the-ordinary weekend for me.  The triathlon was great -- really tough, but great.  Ten laps in the pool (much of it a sputtering backstroke), 14 miles on the bike, and a 4.1 mile run.  I don't know what place I got, but I finished in 1:49:07, which is not super impressive for "triathletes" but I am happy with it for me this year.  I completed the run without stopping, and as meager as that might seem, reached my goal.  The course was wonderful and the weather was just right.  Amen.

We got to play with Aunt Stace and Cousin Oliver on Saturday night.  And we got to go to the Super Fun Park ;)  in Wasilla on Sunday morning.  You can see below how much Ever liked it -- beaming.

An Impromptu Picnic

Today after we returned from bible study in Glennallen -- which was incredible by the way, more in a bit -- I dropped the groceries, grabbed some baby food, grabbed the ducks, found a blanket and we went out for a picnic.  It was a little tricky figuring out which to grab when, as I am not an octopus.  Vulnerable baby birds or bound-for-accident crawling child??  We figured it out though, and even found a second to race back to the house for a loaf of bread, cheese, and a camera.  Lovely :)

Bible study today was a DVD of Ravi Zacharias, part of the 'Is Faith Delusional?' series.  It was wonderful and I'm so glad I went.  This morning I was debating whether it was worth the energy since I would be taking both kiddos.  Well worth it.  He touched on the argument of chaos vs. intelligent design. I don't have enough time to make sure I am writing the right terms or to give it a deserving re-cap (or to make the photos the same size!), but just look at these images he chose to close with.

One is obviously a gorgeous stained-glass window, beautifully crafted by human hands.  The other is a cross-section of human DNA.  Can we really even begin to believe this complexity, beauty, and potential was born of chaos and evolution?  My heart and my brain say no.

What's a kitchen for?

It seems that especially in a smaller house the kitchen must act as a jack of all trades.  Although I think maybe in most homes the kitchen is the central hub, regardless of size.  Currently our kitchen functions as kitchen, greenhouse, duck home, art studio, and hopefully, at least once a day, dining room.

A Very Special Day.

Today we welcomed four baby ducks to our home.  They are the sweetest little things you've ever seen.  Right away Ever asked where their mama was and I told her that she would be their new mama.  She is taking her job pretty seriously ;)
What a very, very special day here.  xoxo

Race Wheels.

So a few days ago -- before the latest spring snow we received -- I got to try out these new wheels.  I was so lucky to be given this bike from Darla last year, when she found it in the ditch following one of the summertime races up here.  Bry took it to the bike shop and had the necessary repairs made.  And it is awesome.  Rides so smooth and fast.  I love it.
Let's just hope I don't wreck it.
I will probably be a crumpled up, out of breath, about-to-throw-up, ball of muscle cramps after my race, but I'm still excited.

Ever.

Ever just left to go play dolls with Grandma.  How adorable is that??

She had to find her "glass doll with curly hair" (the one you think is creepy Stacey ;).

The doll's name is Ever.

Melts my heart, this girl.

Bmen & Johnny's New Interest.

Simply crazy.  So fast!

When I watched the video, the first comment was "You must have Jedi reflexes if you race pods."  :)

I should clarify --- this is not Bryan and his brother, he just wishes it were.
